Hi — I'm Sam. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, now living in Los Angeles for the past decade. I've always been drawn to being outside, particularly obsessed with light and how it moves through a place.

Photography is a vehicle for me to explore whatever I'm curious about at the moment — food, spaces, people, the way a landscape changes at different times of day. Some of it's commercial work, some of it's just my own way of experiencing life unfolding.

When I'm not shooting, I'm usually cooking for friends, planning the next trip, or driving somewhere just to see what's there. California is my home, and I love driving up and down highway one for my next camping trip.
